Apple has announced a new repair program for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus devices. Specific devices from the lineup that won’t turn ON are eligible for the free repair from Apple. As the issue arises due to the faulty component from Apple, the company is calling for the customers who are facing issues for free repair. If the problem is verified to happened due to the faulty hardware from the time of manufacturing, Apple will take no money in fixing the smartphones.
Apple said that the majority of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus devices are under the threat of system failure due to faulty components. If the issue is verified to be the defective component, then the authorized service centers will not charge a single buck for the repairs. The common problems that cause due to the defective part are iPhone won’t turn ON at all. The smartphones manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019 are facing the problems, and the number of the affected devices is minimal. Apple has added a new page on the official website to check for eligibility. The users will have to enter the Serial Number of the device on the site to check if their smartphone is eligible for free repair.
Apple launched iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus back in 2015, as they were the flagship devices back then. As of now, you cannot buy the devices from Apple Store, Authorized retailers, or even online. The only way users can buy the device is refurbished products or the old stock. Just like any other Repair program for Apple, the eligible devices will receive free repair to the issue from Apple Service Center, and Apple Authorized third-party service centers. Also, the users can mail the smartphone to Apple for free repair. If the issue is found to be different than the faulty components, then the users may have to pay an additional amount.
